During the purging of Hydralax, Necron warriors were phased into Akilae by the thousands. The Eldar defenders, being massively outnumbered with most of their forces engaged on the planet below, relied mostly on the still new and untrusted Aspects of Khaine to counter the machines. The Eldar withdrew into the catacombs and mazeways of the Halls of Vaul, where the Necrons were forced apart, divided, and prevented from using their numbers. Each shard of the enemy was then overwhelmed by numerous traps when the aspects revealed themselves from hidden and elevated positions to strike.
The inspired and effective defense would go a long way in bringing acceptance for the Aspects of Khaine in Akilae, with the Reapers being particularly favored. Due to the heavy resistance delivered by the Dark Reaper aspect because of the vicinity of their temple, that section of the Halls was eventually to be known as the Reaper's Mark and reshaped to mimic their sinister nature.
A month or so in the making....mostly spent on the background. Perspective isn't really my thing, so I'm sure there are things wrong.
I should really try to calibrate my monitor to the settings of everyone else's, cuz my images keep showing up with a lot less contrast...
Now that's the concept eldar should have had. That's alien, cool, creepy, high-tech, and elegant all in one. *digs through your other stuff. Its gana be a while! Hope to see more of your "view" on eldar armour.
An incredible picture, and one which has inspired me to give my Dark Reapers cloaks, can't believe i'd never thought of it before. Destroy the Necron scourge!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A Zen feature for you restless souls out there. A collection of specially selected photographs from nov - des, show them some love And remember, being an artist is not just about producing art, but about appreciating other peoples artwork to
